Crazy golf update, Typhoon Lagoon and Animal Kingdom

Crazy golf update, Typhoon Lagoon and Animal Kingdom

Firstly (and most importantly) for those of you who are interested (which I realise will probably just be my family!) a quick update in relation to the crazy golf score. It was 2-2 at the last update and I have now taken a commanding 4-2 lead.

Game 5 was a Disney summer themed course. It was a very competitive game in that we were tied as we got to hole 16, so it looked highly likely that it was going to be a draw…until I hit a hole in one on which meant I won by one shot. That made it 3-2.

Game 6 involved a way more challenging course – Fantasia Fairways. Less crazy golf and more like a traditional golf course, built on a miniature scale, with longer fairways, bunkers and uneven greens. It’s hard to explain what it’s like as you still use a putter, it’s just really hard. Hopefully these pictures demonstrate what I mean.

We have played this course a few times before on previous holidays and I have never won, but miraculously this time I did manage to break my duck…much to Si’s annoyance. Ha!

So, enough about golf. In other news we have also been to Typhoon Lagoon, our second water park. There were no mad drop slides (my back is still recovering from the previous one), but we did some cool raft rides. The lazy river was incredibly lazy and we spent most of the time floating around on that.

Animal Kingdom

Finally, yesterday we went to Animal Kingdom, which is a park centred around a zoo, so lots of animals to see, with shows and rides mixed in too

We saw loads of animals, particularly on the safari tour and the bird show. Even though my pictures suggest we didn’t see much on the safari, there was more than just a lion. There were elephants, giraffes, hippos, rhinos, zebras etc, we just failed to take any. I blame the early morning.

It is also home to my favourite ride amongst all the Disney parks – Avatar, Flight of Passage – which is a 3D ride which involves riding a Banshee over Pandora, based on the film. It is AMAZING and we managed to get on it twice which was lucky as there’s usually a really long queue.

We got to meet Pluto too…

Right, got to clean the apartment as we have visitors coming later today.

  1. Well done on the golf. The longer course looks really tough particularly with only a putter. Liked the bird pictures of the toucan, macaw parrot and blue guinea fowl.
