Here are some photos from our day at Universal. There are two parks – Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure – which are linked by a train ride on the Hogwarts Express! You can obviously walk between the two parks too (they are right next to each other) but the train is the more fun way to travel as it is designed like the one in the movie and there are things going outside the window and the carriage doors, such as dementors flying around. This was our only day at the Universal parks which meant it was going to be a long one as we got there for opening (8:30) and didn’t leave until closing (7pm) so a long day consisting of almost 10 miles of walking. Was a bit mad but wanted to cover it all as we knew we weren’t coming back.

After spending half the day at the first park we caught the Hogwarts Express – there is a Harry Potter area this side which consists of Gringotts Bank and Diagon Alley and then you catch the train to Hogsmeade which is in the other park and is another big area which includes amongst other things the Hogwarts Castle.

We were there so long it was dark by the time we left, but managed to get some good photos of the park at night.
