Antelope Canyon
Today was our second day in Glen Canyon and we had booked on to a tour of Antelope Canyon, one of the famous “slot canyons” in the area which is only accessible via a guided tour. We opted to do the lower part of the canyon which was a longer section than the upper canyon, and also included some fun climbing up and down ladders to get in and out.

This canyon is quite famously used for various screensavers and wallpapers, including on Windows 10/11, Samsung phones (apparently) and LG TV’s.

The middle pic above is supposed to resemble a Lion’s head.

Forgive the endless pics, there were so many good opportunities while down in the canyon

The one on the right above is called “the woman of the wind”.

This one above is supposed to resemble a native American in the rocks, taken in black and white to make it more visible.

On the left above the rocks resemble an eagle and on the right it’s supposed to resemble a smiling shark, which we named “Bruce” after the shark in finding nemo.

The left hand photo gap in the canyon above is supposed to resemble a seahorse, and on the right is where you eventually climb back out of the canyon. The tour lasted around an hour, and the tour guide was really good at explaining everything and showing us where to take the best photos. This was probably the highlight of the trip so far we think.
Toadstool Trail
In the afternoon we went on another short hike locally which was definitely an under-rated walk in the area. Good fun scrambling around and finding your own path, and some lovely contrast in the rock colours.

This walk was fun, despite the warnings of rattle snakes at the start 🙂
We are heading on to the Grand Canyon tomorrow, more pics and updates soon

Looks cool apart from the rattlesnakes. And remember “leaves of two, Lucy’s a poo”
