We’ve Arrived in Las Vegas

We’ve Arrived in Las Vegas

Hi everyone, first blog post from our second trip today and we’ve arrived safely in Las Vegas. We’ve got a long 3 month trip planned starting here, then travelling round loads of the National Parks in the South West, before flying over to Hawaii for a while, then back to LA. hopefully there should be loads of nice pics, and a much more varied road trip than our 2 months in Florida we did in Oct/Nov.

We landed in Las Vegas on Thursday night after a long 10 hour flight, still trying to adjust to the 8 hour time difference and trying to avoid waking up at 2am every night (10am back home), and then again at about 5am…

We had a wander around the Vegas Strip on our first day, only covered about half of it but still clocked up 8 miles of walking. It’s about 17 – 18 degrees and sunny here, so actually nice and warm and dry, making a nice change from the cold and rainy UK we left behind. Pics above are from the Bellagio (where we watched the fountains show), The Wynn/Encore and Caesar’s Palace.

This is our hotel above.

Here’s a few pics from our room. We are staying at the Hilton which is on the strip, but doesn’t have a casino (rare) and so is quiet by comparison. Got a lovely 1 bedroom suite so loads of room as we’ll be here a week. We’ve been catching up on the darts since we’ve been here. Managed to download and watch the quarter finals at Heathrow to watch on the plane – that killed a few hours. Then just finished the final this morning.

Off out for another look round the other end of the strip later today which we didn’t get down to yesterday. Might go to the Sphere (pic below, it looks insane!) as well to check that out and get some food and drinks out somewhere I’m sure

I’d forgotten how massive and mad Vegas is, but it’s definitely a lot of fun!

  1. Hi Si and Lucy. I watched the final at The Sawyers with Frank, Rich and Al. Think the boy-wonder might challenge The Power’s record number of titles – he’s got plenty of time to do it if he keeps focused, but then £1 million quid might distract him. I keep telling my grandson Bryn to practice – he’s 13 on 17th January, only five years younger than The Nuke!

    1. Hi Dave. Yeah he just looks so convincing all the time. Hammered Van Gerwyn really. As someone on the Grove team pointed out, what’s he going to be like when he can have a beer and play?! Either he’ll be better, or that will be the breaking of him
